Electrical Installation
The electrical installation process involves setting up an electrical system that safely distributes power to a building or site. This process must comply with local electrical codes and usually includes the following key stages:
Planning and Design
- Assess power needs (lighting, outlets, appliances, machinery).
 - Create electrical schematics and layouts (single-line diagrams, wiring plans).
 - Choose materials: cables, circuit breakers, panels, switches, etc.
 - Consider safety regulations and code compliance.

First Fix (Rough-In)
- Install conduits, cable trays, or trunking.
 - Run electrical cables or wires through walls, floors, or ceilings.
 - Mount back boxes for switches, outlets, and fixtures.
 - Install the main distribution board or panel.

Second Fix (Final Wiring & Devices)
- Connect outlets, switches, and light fixtures.
 - Install circuit breakers and connect wires to the panel.
 - Label circuits clearly for easy identification.

Testing and Inspection
- Perform continuity tests, insulation resistance, and earth (ground) testing.
 - Verify correct polarity, circuit load, and voltage levels.
 - Schedule inspection by an authorized electrical inspector.

Commissioning and Handover
- Turn on the power and verify that all systems function as intended.
 - Provide documentation, including test certificates and as-built drawings.
 - Handover to the client or building owner.
